I’m Kala’e, owner & lead designer of The Haku Hale! I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California and now live in McKinney, Texas with my husband and daughter. I’m an animal lover, love anything crafty, and am so happy being outdoors!

My love of flowers begins in Hawai’i. Hawaiian culture has been deeply rooted in my family for a long time. I grew up dancing at my local halau where I was taught Hawaiian, Tahitian, and MĀori dance. My Kumu hula ingrained a deep affection, reverence, and respect within me for Polynesian culture and traditions. It was at my halau that I also learned Hawaiian history, some Hawaiian language, and of course, lei making!

The art of lei making became a passion that eventually developed into a love of floral design. I find so much joy and honor in being able to adorn people and places with beautiful flowers and make them feel so special for big celebrations! I can’t wait to do the same for you!
